First Major League Pitch...HOME RUN!
Meet Chris Richard...
The first user of the Personal Pitcher®,
hit a home run on his very first at-bat in AAA for the Memphis Redbirds
of the Pacific Coast League. Chris was called up to the St. Louis Cardinals
and on July 17, 2000, hit his first pitch for a home run against the
Twins.
Later that month he was traded to the Orioles and played the last 45
games in the season. He hit .276 and had 13 home runs! Currently,
Chris is currently the starting left fielder for the Tampa Bay AAA team, the Durham Bulls.

A Message from the Owners...
Success in baseball is the product of hard work and determination, so I easily understand why my son, Chris, has been so successful in making it to the BIG leagues.
I get just as much pride, however, from the many emails and letters from other dads whose sons and daughters of all ages are also achieving their goals while using our products.
Good luck to all who love the game!
Bob Richard, Owner, SPC |
When I was 14 years old, I had dreams of becoming a major league baseball player. I loved the game and couldn't get enough batting practice each day. Luckily my dad is an inventive man, and was able to build the very first Personal Pitcher. He designed it to use small practice golf balls and it had an automatic ball feeder, which allowed me to practice whenever I wanted. My swing and hand-eye coordination improved the more I used it.
I have continued to use the Personal Pitcher throughout my career as I progressed through high school, college and into the Minor Leagues. On July 17, 2000, I entered the Major Leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals and hit the first pitch I saw for a home run. I still use the Personal Pitcher to maintain my swing and keep my hand-eye coordination at its best as my professional career continues.
